Message from the Librarian

Welcome to the Heart of Knowledge

Welcome to the Outspan Medical College Library, the gateway to information resources that inspire learning, research, and innovation in healthcare education. Our Library serves as the heart of academic excellence within the College and Outspan Teaching and Referral Hospital community by supporting students, faculty, and health professionals in their pursuit of knowledge and evidence-based practice.

Guided by our mission to provide quality information services that support better healthcare solutions and training through compassion, critical thinking, and technology, the library provides access to a wealth of print and electronic resources. We offer access to thousands of e-books, journals, and databases in partnership with Kenya Library and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) and other platforms to support evidence-based education and research.

The Library offers excellent internet connectivity, quiet study areas for both individual and group study through our study carrels, and a modern Digital Hub that enhances access to online databases, e-journals, and e-books. For materials not immediately available, we remain committed to sourcing them through our book suppliers and inter-library exchanges, ensuring that our users always have access to the resources they need for learning and research.

Our professional and friendly library staff are always ready to assist you whether you need help locating materials, developing search skills, citing sources correctly, or navigating digital platforms. The Library website also provides helpful guides, round-the-clock access to a librarian support service, and access routes to support independent learning and research.

We look forward to serving you and supporting your academic journey every step of the way. Your feedback, comments, and suggestions are always welcome as we continue improving our services to better meet your information and learning needs.
